The Edinburgh Fringe is the highlight of the year for any comedy fan. But if you’re going to struggle to make it to the Scottish capital this year, fear not: a selection of some of the finest comics is coming to The Witham in Barnard Castle over the course of two days courtesy of comedy club Funny Way To Be.

The Edinburgh Preview days see four top comedians perform their full hour-long Edinburgh shows. On Saturday 14th July satire specialist Nish Kumar (Newsjack, BBC Radio 4/The Mash Report, BBC 2) kicks things off, with a show from New Yorker Alex Edelman and Edinburgh 2017 Best Newcomer Nominee Lucy Pearman, with BBC Radio New Comedy Award Winner Steve Bugeja closing the night.

Local lass Lauren Pattison kicks off a second evening of comedy shows on Saturday 21st July, followed by Edinburgh and Chortle multi-award nominee Adam Hess, softly spoken storyteller Tom Wrigglesworth, and so-called ‘clued-up white male millennial’ Ed Night. A day pass for either event is only £20, so if you want a taste of what’s to come this summer, then this might be a great little time and money saver.
