Freshly Ground Comedy has been growing quite the following for their monthly comedy nights, especially at their show south of the river, at The County Pub in South Shields. The last Thursday of the month is now a date marked in the diary of many comedy fans. Giving its stage to some fantastic headliners over the last year, this next show on Thursday November 26th is another collection of top quality acts.

Closing the show this time around is Comedians’ Comedian Of The Year 2014, Gavin Webster. Gavin received the award voted on by his peers and is one of the most revered acts our region has ever produced. Clever and silly in equal measure, always hilarious, he’ll be making sure the night ends on a massive high. While opening the show, is another hugely respected comedy name, the affable and abrasive Vladimir McTavish. The Scottish act was a huge hit last time he made an appearance, and will be welcomed back with open arms.

Taking the stage between those established comedy talents, are a couple of bright, fresh stand-ups, both making quite the name for themselves. Lauren Pattison was a finalist in Chortle’s Student Comedian Of The Year, this year, while Joby Mageean is growing quite the reputation after successful runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The whole show is held together by regular charming and witty host Si Beckwith. There’s a real warmth at this show, which sees acts feeling comfortable enough to take risks and really embrace a show that’s a little bit special.

With a chance to nab some cheaper tickets online in advance, and the promise of a line-up that will have you in stitches, this could be one of the best evenings of comedy Freshly Ground Comedy have brought to South Shields yet.
