If you’re in the market for some intelligent and alternative comedy and fancy experiencing some proper stand up in a slightly more intimate and cosy environment, then Freshly Ground Comedy, hosted within the rustic Blake’s coffee shop in Newcastle, is the place for you. The exciting return of the monthly mix of brand new stand-up is compered by Micky Cochrane, with seven acts ready to tickle your funny bone.

Headlining this month’s event are BBC Newcastle’s Alfie Joey and Cal Halbert, otherwise known as The Mimic Men. They’ll be performing their hilarious impressions and stand up to the crowd. They’re supported by 21-year-old rising star Lauren Pattison, as well as Camille Hall, Hal Branson, Catherine Scott, Eddie Rivers and Jacob Tong. It’s guaranteed to be a laughter-packed night and even though it’s a pay-what-you-decide event, we’re sure you’ll want to part with a bit of cash in appreciation of the talent on offer.

Freshly Ground Comedy comes to Blake’s, Newcastle on Sunday 14th June.
