Reliably informed

Frank Skinner has had one heck of a year. Not only did he sell out 40 nights of new show Man In A Suit at London’s Leicester Square Theatre, he appeared in personal favourite TV series, Doctor Who, as space-train technician Perkins (appearing not in a suit, but in a pair of grubby overalls, incidentally). Man In A Suit has received an extended live run at theatres across the country, and plays at Middlesbrough Town Hall on Thursday 11th December.

Skinner is rightly acknowledged as a stand-up comedy legend, and has been a firm TV favourite ever since The Frank Skinner Show and Fantasy League Football. While, this year, he’s been touring up and down the country, millions have been glued to their googleboxes for the third series of his reinvented Room 101 (a more than worthy successor to Paul Merton in our humble opinion).

His aforementioned appearance alongside Peter Capaldi’s Time Lord came as a result of his constant pestering of the BBC production team – he admitted he’d been volunteering to be third monster on the left for as long as he could remember. His long connection with football meanwhile, stems back to his dad, who met Frank’s mother in our part of the world, while playing for Spennymoor United. Back to the time and space where it all began then.

Frank Skinner will perform at Middlesbrough Town Hall on Thursday 11th December.
