Newcastle’s synth-pop favourites Fractions are back with a brand new single, and a hometown show at Northumberland Arms on Saturday 21st May to give new track Sink Your Teeth a worthy release. It’s the first bit of new music from the band in far too long, and is a nice taster in what is hopefully exciting times ahead.

Filled with the electronic, dreamy feel of their previous output, Natasha Haws’ vocals are an ethereal delight that still manages to retain a darker edge, making for something beguiling and sharp enough to allow the synths and scorching guitars beneath have something to really twinkle under. Still taking their cue from a more retro sound, it’ll be interesting to see the next steps the bands take with their music and what influences they embrace.

The show at Northumberland Arms is the perfect introduction to the new single live too, as Fractions also welcome alt indie popsters Slurs, the emo influenced Thread Bear, screamo influenced Mizen and poetic punk from Eagertongue.

Fractions play Northumberland Arms, Newcastle on Saturday 21st May.
