Although Doctor Browns will always be regarded as an institution as far as Middlesbrough nightlife is concerned, its star has waned slightly in terms of musical performances over recent years. That, thankfully, is now a thing of the past and the venue’s new owners have collaborated with local record label Goosed Records to bring live music back to Doctor Browns, with everyone being welcome to perform.

Having already staged more conventional gigs under the Doctor Browns roof, on Sunday 25th August they present Flockfest, a one-day outdoor music festival immediately next to the venue on Corporation Road, which looks set to be the perfect way to celebrate your August Bank Holiday.

You can expect performances from hotly tipped pop funk band The Lulas, The G.F. Bruce Band, emerging songwriter Charlotte Grayson and Teesside post-punk institution Pellethead, among others. As with all of Goosed Records’ output to date, the festival looks to represent the musical quality and diversity currently thriving across the region, and to further cement the collaboration between an exciting new musical project and one of the town’s most revered venues.
