Reliably informed

When Fleckt Pets’ first show was forcibly shut down last year, it didn’t really bode well for the band. Some weaker souls might have seen it as a sign that things weren’t meant to be. Fleckt Pets aren’t that sort of group though and were rewarded with a slot with Fat White Family as their full debut show (not many are going to be able to claim that). Since then they’ve built a fearsome reputation for being one of the most energetic and unrestrained garage punk bands around, who are both refreshingly honest and uncompromising. Latest single ‘Snap Chat Video’ touched on the pitfalls of the modern age in typically bombastic style while still having a little twinkle in its eye (and a wonderfully funny video to accompany it). With a bevvy of catchy tunes behind them, now is the best time to catch them in the sweaty, intimate venues their noise was made for.

At their Ku Bar gig they’re joined by Jamie Farrell, who’s recently released his debut EP Better. Like Fleckt Pets, his songs touch on the everyday and are almost ridiculously catchy.

Fleckt Pets play at Ku Bar, Stockton on Friday 4th September.
