Be transported to the beautiful wilds of Northern Europe thanks to storytelling specialists Adverse Camber, as they bring epic tales from Finland to Sage Gateshead on Saturday 10th October.

Fire In The North Sky is a fusion of poems, songs and stories which take their inspiration from the 19th Century work of epic poetry, Kalevala, Finland’s answer to Beowulf. The riveting show sees the performers move freely around the room, as they weave magical tales with haunting soundscapes to provide a fascinating snapshot of Finland’s beguiling cultural heritage. Songwriter and storyteller Nick Hennessey heads up a cast which also includes three of Finland’s best folk musicians, Anna-Kaisa Liedes, Kristiina Ilmonen and Timo Väänänen. Fire In The North Sky promises an intoxicating and utterly charming production filled with myths, adventure and powerful rhythms.
