People love castles, they are magical places that conjure up imagery of kings and queens, mythical beasts and all sorts of fantastical adventures. People also love the cinema, it’s a magical place where you can get lost in films about kings and queens, mythical beasts and all sorts of fantastical adventures. Imagine if the two should ever come together? Well imagine no more as Newcastle Castle announces an exciting programme of screening cult films, nostalgic favourites and exciting cinema, with films for August.

Enjoy cult classics and fun-filled flicks from a range of genres backdropped by centuries old stone in the Great Hall. August’s film selection includes romantic comedy 10 Things I Hate About You on 10th August, the bewitching The Craft on 16th August, coming-of-age classic Stand By Me is on 17th August, cult horror Evil Dead arrives for 23rd August, dystopian sci-fi movie Blade Runner is on 24th August, the raucous Withnail & I is screened 30th August and Big Trouble In Little China rounds it all out with big fun on 31st August.

The films start at 6:30pm, with doors opening at 6pm. Tickets are £9.50 and available online.
