A seminal work is set to arrive at Live Theatre as part of a national tour on Friday 8th June. Jenna Watt’s Faslane looks at the Scottish home of the UK’s nuclear arsenal, something that is becoming increasingly relevant and pushing critical conversations.

With the renewal of Trident gearing up, this multi award-winning show tackles both sides of the debate. Writer and performer Watts has family working one side of the fence and friends protesting on the other. This is a tale of what happens when the personal and political clash. Drawing on interviews with those closest to Faslane, Her Majesy’s Naval Base Clyde, and features immersive sounds and pulls you through protests, peace camps and the heavily political.

The play garnered awards from a month-long Edinburgh Fringe run, and the keenly observed, thoughtful take on the nuclear debate is taking on a divisive and key issue, creating conversation as a result. 

Faslane is at Live Theatre, Newcastle on Friday 8th June.
