Reliably informed

Unlike your average film, jointed and plotted, Exquisite Corpse Cinema is a film project that values randomness. Thirteen film makers were asked to make films 2-5 minutes long on any subject, their only instruction being the use of prompts, which would become sequences leading to the next film. Now is your chance to catch the chaotic screenings at the Star and Shadow Cinema on Wednesday 14th January.

The resultant stitched-together film is 70 minutes of pure chaos and confusion; the miscellany of the piece is precisely what makes it so intriguing. The filmmakers have never met, and live in different cities across the world. From San Francisco, Serbia to right here in Newcastle, the mismatched approaches and haphazard creativity of these aspiring directors will circle the globe and come together to make for one surreal viewing. The filmmakers have no idea how the films connect; and thus it is as though the audience and directors become one, watching this exclusive collaboration for the first time.

Exquisite Corpse Cinema is at the Star and Shadow, Newcastle on Wednesday 14th January.
