An undeniably unique falsetto and a quirky style to coincide, Everything Everything are a band unafraid to shock and surprise; an attitude they bring to their wonderfully weird live shows. With frontman Jonathan Higgs hailing from Newcastle, their return to O2 Academy on Friday 13th November is destined to be a great one. A frantic explosion of peculiar tunes and hyperactive guitar softened by a no-nonsense drum beat, Everything Everything’s back catalogue reads like a child who has had one too many Smarties; and their eclectic creations are perfectly communicated live.

Third album, Get to Heaven, was a combination of hit after hit, catapulting them into the spotlight as one of the most diverse, experimental alternative pop bands around. Their original desire to “avoid the cliché image of men from Manchester with guitars” style has been undoubtedly achieved, as their intricate, contemporary RnB mixed with a math rock, glitch pop and electronic goodness has gripped a mass following.
