Better known as the brains behind loquacious indie poppers Slow Decades, new promoters in town Red Sauce On Meat have booked a superb debut night of fuzzy delights at The Cumberland Arms on Sunday 24th July.

Headlining the show are the much praised London quintet Evans The Death, whose latest album Vanilla was released earlier in the year on Fortuna POP! to critical acclaim. Marrying their gift for sugar sweet, insistent hooks with a love for the noisier side of shoegaze and art rock, their increasingly ambitious and forceful sound has been making waves internationally, with Pitchfork amongst other publications falling for their raw charms.

Playing alongside them are Porridge Radio, a gleefully skewed lo-fi act whose songs place heartfelt confessionals next to surreal, anarchic psychedelia. At once perverse and deeply moving, Porridge Radio’s set is bound to be an off-kilter joy.

Rounding out the bill are local favourite Canyons, whose delicate and layered power pop (as displayed to winning effect on new single Resting My Eyes) has been gaining them a plethora of fans across the region. It’s a bill that offers up the ideal mix of melody, noise and heart to end a week on.

Evans The Death, Porridge Radio and Canyons play The Cumberland Arms, Newcastle on Sunday 24th July.
