The good folks at Great North Museum: Hancock continue in their mission to prove science needn’t be scary, as they host the annual European Researchers’ Night on Friday 28th September.

The event will see the museum stay open late for an after-hours social with some supremely clever bods, who will be presenting their scientific research in a social setting (ie. with booze). This year’s event revolves around the theme of Planet 2.0, as researchers and scientists ask if our planet could do with a reboot. Special guests will be on hand to talk through their research and ideas, with discussions about human health, food, minerals, climate change and habit destruction on the cards.

It’s not all so serious though, as attendees can also roam around the museum to check out their fascinating collections, plus there’s a chance to enjoy a fun-filled virtual reality trip underground in VR game We Dwell Below.

Keep an eye on the museum’s social media pages for full details of researchers, activities, talks and tours on the run up to the event.
