Equestrian Collective are going all festive and bringing joy to the world (or Durham at least) with two events this December.

Saturday 17th will see three out-of-towners assail your ears at Empty Shop HQ. Happy Accidents are a pop punk trio from London and sit somewhere on the shelf between twee and noisy ruckus. Recent album You Might Be Right is a lovely blast of refreshing fuzz and pop sensibilities, so go and check ‘em out, yeah? Fresh are also from London and do that DIY emo punk thing really well, while Camboys are a queer-pop ‘therapycore’ DIY project from Leeds that manage to hide introspective earworms under a big cloak of quirkiness.

The fifth Discount Horse NYE party is, predictably, on Saturday 31st December at a venue that, at the time of writing, is yet to be confirmed. Tickets are available though and the evening has a theme of Two Bodies; One Grave and guests are encouraged to wear their best wedding or funeral attire. Music comes from Pity Me legends ONSIND celebrating their 10th anniversary and US indie punx Radiator Hospital, plus one more band to be confirmed and DJs until the early hours of 2017. Not a bad way to see the year in.
