Reliably informed

The Cumberland Arms have been leading the charge for loads of great festivals and weekenders this year, and October is no different. Taking place on Saturday 26th-Sunday 27th October, the Elixir Valley Weekend brings eminent promoters Prancey Dog and super-cool punk duo The Noise & The Naïve together to curate a pretty special line-up.

Saturday afternoon, programmed by TN&TN’s Pauline and Anne, begins with slow jams and bangers courtesy of DJ Stagger Lee, before electro punk project Lonely Robot Inc kicks of the live music, followed by sets from the excellently monikered feminist punks Farting Suffragettes, all-female rock trio Sing Again Syren, experimental rockers No Teeth and Beth Jeans Houghton’s thrilling Du Blonde.

On Sunday, Prancey Dog takes over the programming, with Beccy Owen hosting a pop-up choir from midday, and live music kicking off from 3pm. Expect performances from songwriting guru Nev Clay, Americana folk duo Cath & Phil Tyler, experimental rapper Faithful Johannes, alt. songwriter Sun Drift, garage blues band Oilbirds and Sunderland post-punks Roxy Girls and eccentric popsters Mr Ben & The Bens.

Best of all? It’s free!
