The People’s Theatre have some truly brilliant pieces of theatre to come in 2016, and February starts with acclaimed collection of monologues Eight, running from Tuesday 9th until Friday 13th February.

Premiering back in 2008 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the collection of monologues is a fresh, unique look at 21st century Britain. Immensely emotive, the play is known to pull on the heart-strings as hope and faith are fought for amidst social cynicism. Written by playwright Ella Hickson, it was all formed around a survey of how twenty-somethings defined their generation with apathy the heartbreakingly unanimous response. The glimmers of faith that shine through are what she centred the monologues around with an honest piece that captures a generation who are becoming increasingly lost.

Eight runs from Tuesday 9th until Friday 13th February at The People’s Theatre, Newcastle.
