Reliably informed

For anyone who might think that Dutch Uncles are a bit of a quaint bunch who are probably quite reserved and austere live, then you really need to go and see them. Even the most cynical soul would be bowled over by the sheer force of nature that is a Dutch Uncles live show, which is often replete with hip shaking, shape throwing and full throttle renditions of their intelligent, often witty tunes.

At The Cluny they’ll finally be bringing a fully-rounded version of their third album O Shudder to the region, having previously played as a depleted outfit at Pop Recs earlier in the year. Undoubtedly their poppiest record yet, O Shudder weaves a vision of thirty-something life that covers everything from having kids to working dead-end jobs in a swathe of synths, strings and Duncan Wallis’ falsetto vocals. With crowd favourites like Flexxin and Cadenza also firmly embedded into their sets, the group are set to leave you feeling elated and exhausted from their boundless energy.

Dutch Uncles play at The Cluny, Newcastle on Thursday 10th December.
