Are you an adventurer who’s forever seeking inspiration for that next outdoor excursion? Well look no further than the weekend-long Durham Adventure Festival, which aims to celebrate the great outdoors in an informal and fun environment at Gala Theatre in Durham from Friday 27th April until Sunday 29th April. Packed with inspiring talks and exciting films from a selection of thrillseekers, they’ve partnered with the long-standing Kendal Mountain Festival, enabling them to entice a stellar line-up.

Across the weekend you can expect talks from record-breaking cyclist Mark Beaumont (Saturday 28th), British mountaineer Andy Cave (Friday 27th) and adventurers Elise Downing and Dave Cornthwaite (Friday 27th), whose exploits include such feats as skateboarding across Australia and paddle-boarding the Mississippi.

Each day’s film programmes are carefully curated to include the most outrageous adventures from climbing in extreme environments to searching for hallucinogenic honey in the Himalayas and free-diving with orcas. Expect mindblowing natural landscapes and amazing expeditions galore. Outside of the sessions, the festival hopes to encourage attendees to share their own stories and escapades over a craft beer or two.
