Music bible DIY Magazine have joined forces with trendsetting blog The Tipping Point to provide musical nourishment for those fed up of the January blues. Aiming to showcase the best up and coming talent, and taking a punt on bands they believe will do well in the following year, their Hello! gigs will break out of the London bubble for the first time since their inception in 2012 and head out on tour, stopping in at Newcastle’s Cluny 2 on Monday 23rd January.
Generator’s Tipping Point can lay claim to being instrumental in giving new acts a helping hand; having featured Icelandic-by-way-of-Brighton dream pop trio Dream Wife earlier in 2016 the group make a logical choice as headliners, particularly as they’re currently riding high on the back of their well-regarded EP which saw them sign with Lucky Number Records (also home to pop favourites Haim). Local support comes from Hartlepool’s post-indie rockers Plaza and the luscious dream pop of Seeing Hands, acts who are already setting tongues wagging in the North East thanks to their strong work ethic and engaging live shows.
