Reliably informed

In these times of social unrest, political uncertainty and piss-poor weather, we could all do with a bit more radge in our lives. Praise be then, for Newcastle promoters Confusion Is Next, who have made it their personal mission to bring a bit more noise to the daily grind.

Having packed The Tyne Bar’s stage during this year’s NARC. Fest, the promoters welcome Glaswegian alt. rockers Donnie Willow back to Newcastle, with a headline performance at Jumpin’ Jacks on Thursday 12th October. Their latest EP Exhibition, released on alt. label Sunbird Records, fuses the heavy hitting elements of metal with the studied intensity of math rock, wrapping it all up in a punishing post-hardcore wildness.

No Confusion Is Next gig is complete without a stellar cast of local radge monsters, and the supporting line-up is typically top notch. Relative newcomers Tiny Mind bring their mathy alt. rock and a reputedly awesome live show; emo/post-hardcore trio ThreadBear continue to build on their spirited Brand New-esque atmospherics, complete with plenty of angry shouting; while making their debut will be four-piece Hollow Legs, with some riffy rock ‘n’ roll to add to the mix.
