Reliably informed

What better blend than music, cake, booze and philanthropy. Well that’s what’s headed to Bridge Hotel in Newcastle on Friday 20th October. All in aid of Hillside Animal Sanctuary, Dog Years and Baker Island are set to play a wonderful show for an equally wonderful cause.

Last month the charity was placed under increased strain when an Irish dairy farmer decided to spare his entire herd from slaughter and sent all 70 cows to Hillside, where they will now live out their natural lifespans peacefully and happily. Though as we approach winder, there’s mouths to feed, and as Hillside is funded entirely by donations, in steps these two top bands.

There’s the tangy pop n’ roll of Dog Years, and the delightfully distinctive fuzzy pop noise of Baker Island. So the chance to do some good, and hear some of the most original sounds of the North East music scene sounds like a smashing Friday night to us.
