After two highly successful instalments, it’s a delight to see DJAZZ go from strength to strength as they present their third instalment over the weekend of Friday 7th to Sunday 9th June. Taking place in an assortment of established and converted venues across Durham, the team behind DJAZZ have again put together an eclectic and exciting programme of established and upcoming names.

Friday night sees one of the festival’s main acts, acclaimed clarinettist and composer Arun Ghosh, performing at Redhills, while the DJAZZ Bar at The Riverwalk hosts a North East Super Jam. Saturday sees a packed schedule across the festival venues, with highlights including The Nu-Bossa Band at The Square Free Stage and a midday performance from Maja Bugge at the Normal Chapel, before the action returns to Redhills again for a special evening show from Noize Choir and the latest project from acclaimed performer, drummer and composer Moses Boyd.

On Sunday there’s a plethora of intimate performances to catch as well as a special set from pianist Paul Taylor in Durham Cathedral, before the weekend draws to a close with a special Between Waves set from Archipelago and Fran Bundey at the festival’s pop-up venue. All together, it’s another thoughtful and well-booked bill in the heart of Durham city centre that’s well worth your time.
