Do you remember North East band Cut Glass Accents? Well, you might be pleased to know that like a phoenix from the ashes, members of the former favourites have come back together to form Digits, a high-octane, post-hardcore band that are currently causing quite a bit of a stir in the underground rock scene. Luckily, you have the chance to see what all the fuss is about when the band roll up to the O2 Academy in their home city on Saturday 17th January.

Their debut EP Acquiesce to Violence was extremely well received by both fans and critics alike, but those who’d stayed the journey since the days of CGA might have noticed something a little bit different in their sound. Though they’re still as scuzzy and progressive¬†as ever, Digits are a much tighter unit. Bass player Stu Latham explained that it is “appealing to more of a niche of listeners as opposed to trying to have a song to please everyone. The sound is generally much heavier, much less traditional than the majority of bands on the scene today.” Expect some seriously heavy riffs and a dash of wanton¬†experimentalism in their set.

Digits play at the O2 Academy, Newcastle on Saturday 17th January.
