The Washington-based trio bring their psych-drenched stoner rock to Stockton’s Georgian Theatre on Monday 16th March.

Dead Meadow’s initial musical journey may have taken place in the aggressively political D.C. punk scene, where heavy guitar rock was coupled with politics, but unlike their contemporaries the trio turns on and trips out. The band’s sound harks back to the likes of Black Sabbath and Cream yet their music never feels derivative, combining mystical lyricism with loping bass lines, grimy drum fills and fuzzed out guitar to create something truly original. Their credentials as real innovators have already been proven touring with the likes of infamous psychedelic outfit The Brian Jonestown Massacre and taking to the stage at the illustrious Austin Psych fest.

The opportunity to see a band with such a big sound in the most intimate of settings is not one to pass up on.
