Dansi had been set up for a wonderful 2018; a first European tour, festivals in the diary and riding high after a run of sell-out shows, but this has all been cut short (for now) after their van was broken into while in Rome.

With the thieves taking everything from instruments to equipment and even clothes, the band have lost well over £20,000 in stolen items, with a lot of it sadly uninsured. This horrific act is just a heartbreaking moment for a band who were emerging as one of the North East’s brightest musical talents.

As one of Alphabetti Theatre’s associate artists, they have launched this Crowdfunder campaign to help Dansi replace some of their lost items.

With musicians around the country donating money, instruments, time and talent, anything we can do to help Dansi get back on their feet can only be a good thing.

The campaign only launched five days ago, and so far 61 donors have collectively raised £1,985. This could really be a big help to a talented band, and you can visit the Crowdfunder page here. We’ll leave the final word to the band themselves.

“Your response to what happened to us in Rome has been absolutely incredible and we thank each and every one of you who has got in touch, sent your love or tried to help us in any way.” – Dansi

Dansi’s Crowdfunder runs until Thursday 31st May.
