Fans of bequiffed Alabama native Dan Sartain have been eagerly awaiting his return to Newcastle after a few blips in recent years. Now Sartain is finally set to appear at The Cluny on Thursday 21st April as part of his first trip back to the UK in three years.

Having released his first LP back in 2001, the rockabilly veteran is best known for his quintessentially American blend of sinister Deep South rock ‘n’ roll. Endorsed by the legendary John Reis (Rocket from the Crypt, Drive Like Jehu), Sartain has released several LP’s on Reis’ Swami Records imprint. His recent release Century Plaza sees Sartain sidestepping away from Southern Gothic to embrace dark electro pop, and whilst latest single Walk Among the Cobras (a remake of the track of the same name from 2003’s Dan Sartain vs. The Serpientes) still maintains that ominous edge, the original remains the perfect starting point for anyone not familiar with Sartain; a soul-rattling, menacing mix of garage and rockabilly that shows him at his bad-ass best.

Dan Sartain plays The Cluny, Newcastle on Thursday 21st April.
