The one thing that can be said about any gigs put on by Teesside promoter Pay For The Piano (aka Mr Henry Carden) is that they are full of heart. Each show is filled with a warmth that can be felt by both band and crowd and this time is no different, in fact you could say that this is his most emotion rich show to date. The reason? Way back in 2009 Viole from DAGS! had put on Henry’s band Dartz on in Milan and now he wants to return the love by giving them a hearty reception in his backyard of Middlesbrough, as part of their UK and Europe tour.

Sentiment to one side, melodic riff sweethearts DAGS! are a must see band with a sound that is filled with garage-rock jaggedness mixed with spacious, textured instrumentation and impassioned vocals – think Mineral, Penfold and Spy vs Spy. Their live intensity and Euro-cool swagger in a venue that oozes Teesside charm, will make this a spectacle that guarantees a nice night will be had by all.

Joining them at the Westgarth is local lo-fi lovelies, Dressed Like Wolves, who will be playing a rare full band gig, as well as a debut performance from secretive spooky emo pop-punksters Palace Watson.

Catch DAGS! at the Westgarth Social Club on Thursday 18th April. Tickets are £5 (+booking fee) in advance or £7 on the door.
