After the success of last year’s sell-out event, the organisers of Craft Beer Calling have announced that they’ll be back for another round between Friday 23rd and Sunday 25th October. This year’s event will see the addition of even more Breweries (thus bringing the total of beers to a massive 300), a much bigger street food market and an extensive Meet the Brewer and In Conversation programme. There will also be the addition of a working¬†microbrewery on site and a range of barrel-aged beers served straight from the wood.

The event organiser, Wylam Brewery’s Dave Stone, said: “Last year’s event was fantastic given that it was the first year of the event but we don’t want to rest on our laurels […] We will be welcoming some amazing Breweries to the UK for the first time as well as looking forward to seeing the return of some firm favourites an of course ensuring that the North East’s brewing community are well represented.”

He went on to add: “We will have some great speakers in attendance, the details of which we will be announcing in the coming weeks, however we can announce today that the highly respected author Pete Brown will be hosting an In Conversation session with us during the Sunday Day session plus we have a plethora of incredible brewers taking part in the Meet the Brewer sessions, some of which are coming from as far as New Zealand and the USA to be with us. Another new addition to the programme will be a Beer School session for those keen to learn more about the basics of brewing.”

While a whole batch of attending brewers are still to be unveiled, the event has already revealed that some notable additions to this year’s lineup are Americans Sierra Nevada and Stone Brewing Co, Danish brewer Mikkeller, and Australians Nomad Brewing Co. Returning to the festival include The Kernel Brewery, Beavertown Brewery, Liverpool Craft Beer Co, Camden Town Brewery, and America’s Lagunitas Brewing.

As if that wasn’t enough, the closing party will see the return of international DJ and all-round technical wizard Mr Scruff to the turntables at the Boiler Shop.

Craft Beer Calling will take place between Friday 23rd and Sunday 25th October 2015 at the Boiler Shop, Newcastle. Tickets are now on sale.
