Arts organisation Common is seeking to support the UK theatre industry, with goals of economic diversity and helping artists from working-class backgrounds a cornerstone.

Common Ground is the inaugural initiative which is an inclusive, supportive discussion aimed at artists from working-class environments, with leading theatres across the country providing useful help to push forward with giving working-class voices a fair chance within the arts. With a focus on those working and living in Newcastle and the surrounding areas, it’s a big chance for creatives in our region to make more of their talent.

On Tuesday 24th July is a new event taking place at Alphabetti Theatre, Newcastle giving the opportunity to  be part of the dialogue between Alphabetti Theatre, Live Theatre, Northern Stage and COMMON about how to effectively support working-class artists in this region.
