Chilli Studios will be holding their annual exhibition Chilly Chilly Bang Bang from Wednesday 7th until Thursday 22nd September at The Holy Biscuit Gallery in Newcastle. The exhibition will include over 100 diverse works from over 170 studio members, covering an eclectic mix of art forms including oil, acrylic and brush works of excellence and simplicity; collections of intricate and humorous prints; installation work; projected animations; poetic and creative narratives; audio delights of music and personal radio interviews; complex improvised structural sculptures, fine lined drawings and ceramic centre pieces.

What’s really fascinating and inspiring here is that Chilli Studios is a mental health-focused art studio. The team at Chilli Studios is made up of creative professionals and support workers, all fully committed to engage people who are experiencing mental health issues in creative practices. Chilli Studios facilitates an exciting programme of creative workshops for members to take part in, with this exhibition revealing what they have been working on over the past year.

The preview night on Tuesday 6th September looks like a whole lot of joyous fun, as Chilli Studio members kick the exhibition off in style with poetry readings and live music performances from Latin jazz fusion to world pop kitsch. Join in the celebration of this wonderful achievement and the power of the creative arts in building resilience, confidence and relationships.
