Feel like trying some exquisite gourmet dining? If you’re feeling a bit adventurous and don’t mind going vegetarian for a night, then you may well be tempted by the treats being laid on by Cook House at their latest Chef Takeover. Tom Anglesea and Shaun Hurrell are the team behind pop-up dining establishment Trial Shift, and have worked with top chefs including Fergus Henderson, Tom Keller and Marcus Wareing since working under Terry Laybourne at Jesmond Dene House.

The duo behind Trial Shift have teamed up with Ken Holland, known for his extraordinary love of vegetables, to produce an exquisite eight-course menu. Following crudities, dips and a Waldorf gougere, diners can sink their teeth into onion and Milan turnip broth, Crown Prince squash made family style and heirloom carrots, labneh, nasturtium and mint before digging into some traditional carrot cake and a Mexican tarragon ice pop.

If you’re salivating right now, then you’d best be quick as the event is set to sell out fast.

Chef Takeover will take place at Cook House, Newcastle on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd March.
