Ahead of a hectic month of live appearances, Richmond’s finest, Ceiling Demons, have partnered with emerging record label Butterfly Effect to unveil a first vinyl pressing of their debut album Nil, set for release on Friday 8th June.

Having already caught the attention of fans across the region and beyond for their passionate and intense live show and their emotive take on alternative hip-hop, Nil found Ceiling Demons expanding their outlook sonically whilst taking a more introspective lyrical stance, tackling issues of depression, loss and survival.

Released last September on CD and cassette by Durham-based label Win Big, the band noted that “like a snake shedding its skin to reveal the body within, Nil is an attempt at purification” in an interview with NARC., with the album embodying ideas of “loss, love and acceptance, with an underlying emphasis on hope.”

If further incentive was needed to purchase the album, Ceiling Demons and Butterfly Effect have also announced that profits from the vinyl release will be donated to Teesside-based mental health charity Men Tell Health.

As well as this re-issue, you can also see the band live this month at Music Box Festival, Darlington (Sunday 3rd June), TSOne in Middlesbrough (Thursday 7th June) and making an in-store appearance at Stockton’s Sound It Out Records on Saturday 9th June.
