After last year’s seminal Teesside University Christmas show Cattle & Cane look set to make their festive shindigs a regular event, with an even larger show at Middlesbrough Empire on Thursday 22nd December.
In between studio sessions in Belgium, the Teesside indie folk group have spent the past few months performing at acclaimed tastemaker events such as Reeperbahn Festival, Live At Leeds and Evolution Emerging, as well as at some of the UK’s finest boutique festivals including Deer Shed, Lindisfarne and We Are Family. 2016 has also seen the band tour abroad for the first time, with shows as far afield as Germany and Malta. With continued national support from the likes of BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 1, Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch and with no sign of the work rate slowing next year should be their best yet.
With a new album already under wraps for a spring release, latest single 7 Hours offers a glimpse of what we might expect from their new material; it’s a stripped-back bluesy affair with a glam riff, unmistakeably underpinned by their signature sound it’s perhaps their most immediately catchy yet. Rising indie electro stars Cape Cub will support on the night, making this one to remember.
