If retro Britpop is your bag then head on down to Middlesbrough Town Hall for Liverpool legends Cast on Wednesday 10th December. Following on from John Power’s solo-acoustic Autumn tour and several other side projects of other band members (including touring with Robert Plant and tour managing Johnny Marr) December will see the full band re-unite for their series of now traditional Cast at Christmas gigs.

Formed in 1992 by members of The La’s and Shack, Cast went on to release four successful albums, disbanding soon after the release of the fourth. Reuniting in 2010, Cast released a fifth album and have continued to perform ever since. Now with a new (as yet untitled) album due for release next year, Cast fans will be sure to hear previews of forthcoming tracks at these Christmas gigs as well as those crowd pleasers we all know and love: Alright, Sandstorm and Walkaway.

Main support comes from the acclaimed John McCullagh and The Escorts. Originally discovered by Alan McGee, John McCullagh has played with the likes of Richard Hawley, The Strypes, Alabama 3, The Enemy, Reverend & The Makers.

Ok £20 midweek might seem a bit pricey but why not double the night up as your works/friends festive night out, plus there’s no better time of the year for a bit of nostalgia and Britpop in a Victorian Grade II listed venue…it’s sure to be a great atmosphere!
