Theatre promotions company, CaroleW Productions, have curated a pretty astonishing line-up of shows at Newcastle’s Alphabetti Theatre throughout November and December. With a self-imposed remit to bring only the most inspirational creatives to the region, the company’s simple goal is for theatre goers to have ‘a good night out’, and with the roster of eclectic entertainment on offer, we’re pretty sure that’s a given.

The season kicks off from Tuesday 7th to Friday 10th November with the quick wit and clowning eccentricity of Honky Bonk Theatre, who perform The Establishment: Eton Mess, a show about two upper-class British gents who struggle to hold onto their values, wealth and power in the modern world. Murder, love and intrigue is on the cards thanks to Tooth+Nail’s absorbing physical theatre show Hummingbird, from Tuesday 21st until Friday 24th November, which draws inspiration from the infamous Lonely Hearts Killers who lured their victims through small ads in the USA in the 40s and 50s.

From Tuesday 5th to Friday 8th December, one woman show Be More, Do Better But Don’t Change uses spoken word, poetry, stand-up and music to look at love in all its forms; while leading up to Christmas, from Wednesday 13th until Friday 15th December, Scottish improvised comedy troupe The Men With Coconuts showcase their eccentric talents in Improvised Bond. For something entirely different, Thursday 14th December will see UK Improv Smackdown Champion MC Hammersmith perform improvised hip-hop comedy based on the audience’s suggestions in his show Magical Freestyle Factory.
