Reliably informed

No, not a horror-themed re-enactment of PJ and Duncan’s childhood stomping ground, Byker Grave is a festival which aims to celebrate the great and good of the North East’s underground scene. Begun last year as a last-minute replacement for the cancelled Northern Darkness festival, the ‘triumph of mess and metal’ curated by Inverted Grim-Mill Recordings and Omega Warfare Records is returning to Newcastle’s Globe on Saturday 29th November.

The line-up features a host of heavy metal feedback worshippers including North Eastern black metallers Wodensthrone, progressive death metallers Ageless Oblivion, the fantastically named Brighton doom mongers Sea Bastard, blackened doom Londoners Bast and many others including technical death metallers Plague Rider, hardcore enthusiasts Prolefeed and stoner doomsters Lovely Wife.

Guaranteed to be a bowel-wateringly loud night.

Byker Grave Festival takes place at The Globe, Newcastle on Saturday 29th November.
