Classic rock and metal festival Brofest will be returning to Northumbria for its third successive year. The three day festival, running from Friday 27th February until Sunday 1st March, will see a whole host of heavy hitting bands grace Northumbria Students Union, including a first live show in 30 years from Teeside five piece Hammer.

Topping the bill will see the return of local legends Hollow Ground who played out a storming show last year. Expect plenty of new tracks from their fantastic new album WARLORD. After a cancellation looked set to cause Havoc at the 2014 festival, local lads Blitzkrieg stepped in to plug the hole and play a set that really got the blood pumping. Therefore, it’s only fair that they’re rewarded this time around. Make sure you catch their extended set as they crank out even more classics.

Drawing the weekend to a close will be Birmingham veterans James Raid, a band who change their line-up more often than their socks (and when speaking about touring life in a metal band, this might not be too far from the truth). Catch them while you can for this rare UK appearance, and an even rarer Northern one at that.

Brofest takes place at Northumbria Students’ Union, Newcastle from Friday 27th February until Sunday 1st March.
