Winners from one of the world’s most prestigious art competitions are set to showcase their enthralling pictures at Sunderland Museum, Library and Winter Gardens from Saturday 24th March until Sunday 10th June.

The BP Portrait Award is a prestigious annual art competition and has a first prize of £30,000, making it one of the largest for any global arts competition, with it returning to Sunderland for the first time since 2014.

The exhibition includes First Prize winner Breech! by Benjamin Sullivan, Second Prize winner Double Portrait, by Thomas Ehretsmann and Third Prize winner Emma by Antony Williams. There’s also Young Artist Award Henry Christian-Slane and his work Gabi.

With a highly esteemed judging panel selecting the works on show and the prize winners, this an exhibition of the highest quality, with the finest in contemporary portraiture on show. 

The BP Portrait Exhibition is at Sunderland Museum, Library and Winter Gardens from Saturday 24th March until Sunday 10th June.
