On Thursday 17th May Newcastle psych promoters Wandering Oak take over Newcastle’s cultural epicentre, Cobalt Studios, to bring you a night co-headlined by BOYTOY and Fruit Tones who are on Bristol indie label, Stolen Body Records.

Brooklyn quartet BOYTOY have recently released their EP Night Leaf, which has been getting some BBC Radio 6 play as of late, and embark on a European tour to promote it. The band somehow manage to combine the bright, surf-rock grooves of the 1960’s with heavy guitar riffs snatched from the 1970’s Lower East Side to produce a truly unique soundtrack to the summer.

Fruit Tones on the other hand are (in their own words) “hot dog shakin’, boogie makin’ fresh cream takin’ garage jivin’ and straight out of Manchester”. With an intense garage rock sound reminiscent of The Stooges or New York Dolls they are guaranteed to get you moving.

As if that’s not enough, completing the line-up are Newcastle’s doom pop trio No Teeth and Star Cult, a new fuzz-driven project brought to you by members of Moon Rover.
