The new kid on the craft beer block, Bottle Shop Bar & Kitchen have already built up some momentum thanks to a handful of excellent ‘meet the brewer’ events. Located at Waterloo Square in Newcastle, the venue prides itself on its range of artisan, premium and handmade craft beers from around the world. With an ever-changing menu of drinks, plus superbly paired food to wash it down with, it’s a proper one-stop shop.

The addition of live events to their menu was inevitable, and they offer a homely location for music and comedy. With a handful of gigs already under their belt, they’re fast becoming a reliable pit-stop on the gig trail. Coming up this month are alt. rock five-piece The Firelight Opera on Friday 8th plus the twisted electronica of Roys Iron DNA and prog rockers Big Figure on Friday 15th April. Another date for your diaries is Sunday 12th June, when Britpop hero Mark Morriss from The Bluetones plays a solo show. A monthly comedy night is also on the agenda, with Wednesday 6th April seeing high-energy topical comic Patrick Monahan and fast-rising local comedian Lauren Pattison taking to the stage.
