Body Talk is set to return to it’s spiritual home on Friday 30th June, with Cobalt Studios hosting something very special. They’re bringing a plethora of local talent poached from the growing rosta of the Sulk Magic label run by resident DJ, Jo ‘Bird of Paradise’ Howard. Alongside himself, Jo has invited Newcastle’s own James Hadfield (Lizards/Elizabeth Collective) and Force Majeure (Who’s debut release on Jo’s ‘Sulk Magic’ label we’ll be celebrating, too) to plump up the bill on the night which headlined by uber-producer and underground hero, Timothy J. Fairplay.

Tim has been making slow-motion, jacking house music and sustained freak-outs for over a decade now. He’s done everything from playing guitar in Battant (alongside Chloe from C.A.R.) as well as for Two Lone Swordsmen, eventually partnering up with head blade wielder, Andrew Weatherall to form their ‘Asphodells’ project releasing debut album ‘Ruled by Passion, Destroyed by Lust’ to huge critical acclaim back in 2014. Since then Tim has been kept more than busy with countless musical collaborations, releasing dozens of solo singles on labels like Astrolab, Emotional Response and Bird Scarer while fitting in a hectic DJing schedule with Scott Fraser as ‘Crimes Of The Future’ and running the ‘Crimes…’ record label.

The guys are over the moon to have the opportunity to bring this mega talented selector up to the North East and have him play to Newcastle’s best crowd at Cobalt. Support on the night comes in the shape of the Body Talk residents.

Doors on the night will be opening early at 9:30 to accommodate the large line up and Tickets are available over on Resident Advisor but there are a limited number of paper tickets still to be had from Ernest, 586 Records and Rodney’s Chop Shop too. There will be limited space on the door on the night too but we’d advise to get there sharp!
