Great things can often be borne of collaboration, and that’s never been truer for Mick Rolfe and John Nellist. The Tyneside musicians have recently begun working together as part of the live band for the phenomenally successful Screenage Kicks events, but the two friends were keen to collaborate on an event of their own. Enter Behold…The Great Christmas Party, taking place at The Cluny, Newcastle on Sunday 21st December, where both musicians’ current bands will be making an appearance. Nellist’s psych/Kraut/neo-folk project Behold A Pale Horse will join Rolfe’s newly launched expansive indie rock band The Great Curve (do you see what they did there?!) for a celebratory Christmas shindig.

There’s good news for the first 100 people through the door too, as the boys have decided to offer up a free gift for quick thinking punters, as Mick explains: “Both bands have spent quite a bit of time in Blank Studios recently, recording material for release in the new year, so we decided to produce a limited run of a four-track CD featuring two songs from each band, recorded specifically for this occasion, which will only be available on the night.”
