Dawdon Youth And Community Centre has pulled in a real coup for February, as Futureheads frontman and North East music hero Barry Hyde is set to play a show for the venue’s youth hub, which is a charity focusing on young people’s mental well-being as well as providing activities and support for a range of age groups.

Hyde’s music has touched delicately on mental health at times, and his intelligent songwriting is perfect for the show on Friday 1st February. It’s been pulled together in conjunction with East Durham Creates, as part of the No More Nowt Happens project. With young people the cornerstone of making this show happen, it’s impressive that they’ve bagged a real talent for the show and, with support from Tom “Mouse” Smith, Seaham Music Academy, The Wish, Shaun Cross and Georgina Percival it’s set to be a really special night.
