The award-winning dance theatre company balletLORENT is set to mark its 25th anniversary this year with a new production, After Dark, and a unique exhibition that takes in a career-spanning amount of photographs, posters, film footage and costumes.

Opening on Thursday 27th September at Northern Stage in Newcastle, it’s a glimpse behind the inner workings of this incredibly successful dance company, with never before seen images from the history of balletLORENT giving great context to the hardworking and inventive group whose history is firmly rooted in the city.

It’s all set to whet the appetite for their new show After Dark, an intimate, cabaret-style evening of dance and music inspired by balletLORENT’s popular productions la nuit intime and The Night Ball, with this new show arriving Wednesday 7th until Saturday 10th November also at Northern Stage.

Smart, intelligent, thoughtful works have become the cornerstones for the company founded by Liv Lorent, with their recent production of Rumpelstiltskin something absolutely mesmerising. Drawing on real imagination, there’s much to look forward to still for this company, though a glimpse at their history will be just as intriguing.

Balletlorent’s 25 years is at Northern Stage from Thursday 27th September.
