If you haven’t found yourself wandering down Avenue Q yet, my first question to you would be Y?  For those who’ve been living uptown for the last ten years, Avenue Q is the tale of Princeton, a graduate who moves to New York to experience the glamour and glitz of the Big Apple and who instead finds himself living amongst the quirky characters who reside in the run-down neighbourhood that is Avenue Q.

There’s nothing so special about that, I hear you cry! But this isn’t just any old neighbourhood and this isn’t just any old musical, because its cast are puppets! Think Sesame Street meets South Park and you can’t go far wrong, because these aren’t your run-of-the-mill Kermits and Big Birds. These puppets swear, look at internet porn and yes, even have sex! Featuring hysterical songs like Everyone’s A Little Bit Racist, The Internet Is For Porn and It Sucks To Be Me, you’ll find yourself singing along long after the residents of Avenue Q have settled down for the night.

Having won the Tony Award, Avenue Q has wowed audiences on Broadway and the West End and it is now hitting the Tyne Theatre & Opera House for a two-night stint on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th April, so book now or you’ll feel like a right Muppet!

Avenue Q is at Tyne Theatre & Opera House, Newcastle on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th April.
