Reliably informed

For recent visitors to the Old Police House, seeing a bunch of Sheffield punks invade the Gateshead venue might seem like a bit of a wild shift in gears from the experimental and electronic acts we’re more used to seeing. But it’s a Bank Holiday, a day to do something a bit different and break the routine, so as part of The Audacious Art Experiment’s huge weekend tour across the country, punx Aurochs are playing at one of the region’s not-so-best-kept secrets.

Joining them on the night are Rob and Natas who last year released an EP called This Live Demo Sucks! Except it doesn’t and is instead filled with short, sharp blasts of garage punk from the guitar-drums duo. We feel they might just be being a bit modest. Bringing your own fluids is recommended, just in case the beautiful onslaught of noise provokes a spate of mass dehydration. You never know.

Aurochs, Rob and Natas and Radium Jaw all play at the Old Police House, Gateshead on Sunday 30th August.
