Reliably informed

El Paso post-hardcore legends At The Drive In bring the dynamic chaos of their live show to Newcastle for the first time on Saturday 10th March at O2 Academy, for what is undoubtedly one of the unmissable alt. rock gigs of the year.

Until recently it seemed the unpredictable rockers would never grace British shores again; after breaking up in 2001, band members focused on side projects such as The Mars Volta and Sparta before a brief, somewhat volatile reunion in 2012. Thankfully differences were set aside, with the band releasing their first album since 2000’s seminal Relationship of Command in May 2017. Despite the 17 year gap between albums, At The Drive In have lost none of their intensity, and in•ter a•li•a is just as explosive as anything that has preceded it, proving the five-piece are still a force to be reckoned with.

As far as support acts go, we’re being pretty spoiled with Canadian noise rock duo Death From Above. DFA are another band who are no strangers to break ups and volatility, but their musical output certainly hasn’t suffered, as is evident from their blistering September 2017 record, Outrage! Is Now. Also supporting are Mexican garage band Le Butcherettes, whose three studio albums have all been produced by At The Drive In’s Omar Rodriguez-Lopez.
