A must for all bibliophiles, the Artists’ Book Market turns BALTIC’s Level 1 into a haven of paper on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th July. Offering a marketplace for small press publishers to display their wares, alongside artist’s groups, zine publishers, bookbinders and all manner of creators of beautiful papery things, it’s a real treasure trove of creativity.

If you’ve ever wanted to create your very own book, join in with the Book Creator for the iPad workshop where, using an iPad and simple book creating apps, you can bring your digital designs to real life. The two-hour bookmaking workshop will show more traditional methods, while the Perzine – or personal zine – Pride Workshop guides you through the process of creating a self-published photocopied work. Artist Jean McEwan, founder of the Bradford-based zine collective Loosely Bound, will help explore themes relating to Durham Miners Gala and Newcastle Pride.

Artists’ Book Market is at BALTIC, Gateshead on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th July.
