Beware bibliophiles; BALTIC once again welcomes the Artists’ Book Market on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June. If you have a disposition for fingering through beautifully bound collections of art, the portfolios of small publishers or quirky and original ‘zines, you may want to dig into your savings because the temptation to spend will no doubt overcome you.

The free event will gather over 40 national and regional creatives, giving them the opportunity to engage with the public and flog their one-of-a-kind pieces. Amongst the book stalls there will be various artist interventions, including a brief history of ‘zine making with James Wilkinson, whereas Chloe Spicer’s more unusual library rave will have you busting a move with a book. There’s also the opportunity to learn how to turn your favourite book in to a musical instrument with the experimental Sound Book Project.

Guaranteed to be a treasure trove of artistic wonders with captivating and fun filled events added to the mix.

Artists’ Book Market takes place at BALTIC, Gateshead on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June.
